Option A: Connecting Your Primary Domain

Using your primary domain to host your Lumi business storefront means your main website address will serve as the storefront. This option is ideal if you’d like a unified online presence under one domain.

1. Purchase Your Domain

• Recommendation: Purchase your domain from a reputable registrar such as Namecheap.
• Example: Search for scopelagos.com on Namecheap. If it’s available, complete the purchase.

2. Configure Your DNS Settings

After purchasing your domain, you need to direct it to our hosting environment:

• Log in to Your Account: Access your registrar account (e.g., Namecheap) and navigate to the DNS management or domain settings section.
• Update Your Name Servers:
  Replace your current name servers with the following:
  • ns1.digitalocean.com
  • ns2.digitalocean.com
  • ns3.digitalocean.com
    This directs all traffic for your domain to our hosting environment where your Lumi storefront is set up.
• Save Your Changes:
  Remember to save the new settings. Note that DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 48 hours to propagate.

3. Verify Your Setup

• Tip: Use a tool like WhatsMyDNS to check that your domain now points to the updated name servers.

Option B: Connecting a Subdomain

If you prefer to keep your primary domain for other purposes (such as a corporate website) and want your Lumi storefront on a dedicated URL, using a subdomain is an excellent option.

1. Access Your DNS Management

• Log in to Your Account: Sign in to your registrar (for example, Namecheap) and navigate to the DNS settings for your primary domain.
• Example: In Namecheap, select scopelagos.com and click on the “Advanced DNS” section.

2. Create a CNAME Record for Your Subdomain

• Record Details:
  • Host/Name: Enter the subdomain prefix. For example, if you want shop.scopelagos.com, enter shop
  • Value/Target: Enter the Lumi storefront URL provided by our system.
    For example:
    https://app.lumibusiness.io/storefront/1454-hello-quenn
  • TTL: Use the default value or set it to around 30 minutes if the option is available.
• Save the Record:
  After entering the details, save your new CNAME record.

3. Verify Your Subdomain

• Tip: Verify your subdomain is correctly set up by using a DNS lookup tool or by simply visiting shop.scopelagos.com in your web browser. https://www.whatsmydns.net/
