Lumi Business Product Update: Release 17 – Supplier Edits, Stock Alerts & Pharmacy Workflow Enhancements

This release introduces improvements across procurement, inventory alerts, customer data, and pharmacy workflows, helping businesses operate with greater flexibility, accuracy, and insight.

Below are the latest updates now available on Lumi.

1. Edit Supplier on Approved Purchase Orders

Businesses can now change the supplier on approved Purchase Orders (POs), with automatic updates reflected in supplier ledgers.

Why this matters

Mistakes in supplier selection or last-minute changes previously required workarounds or manual corrections. This update ensures supplier records and financial data remain accurate without disrupting operations.

How it works

• Supplier changes are allowed on Approved POs
• When updated:

  • The new supplier ledger is updated

  • The previous supplier ledger is adjusted accordingly
    • Draft and In-Review POs can still be edited as usual via Update PO

Result

• Accurate supplier financial records
• Reduced manual corrections
• Better procurement flexibility

2. Flexible Bulk Stock Alerts

Merchants can now set bulk stock alert timelines for expiring products across all inventory.

What’s new

Set how far in advance you want to receive expiry alerts (e.g., 24 weeks).

After the first alert:
• The system automatically reverts to standard alert intervals
• New products and batches follow the same logic

Why this matters

Businesses, especially pharmacies, need early visibility into expiring stock to avoid losses and plan inventory movement.

Result

• Reduced inventory waste
• Better stock planning
• Proactive expiry management

3. Gender Field for Customer Data

Customer profiles now include a Gender field, available during checkout and in the Customer module.

Why this matters

More complete customer data enables better segmentation, reporting, and personalized engagement especially for healthcare and pharmacy businesses.

Result

• Improved customer insights
• Better targeting for campaigns and loyalty programs
• Enhanced reporting capabilities

4. Prescription Overlay (Reinstated for Pharmacies)

The Prescription Overlay has been reinstated in Sell Mode, allowing pharmacies to generate and manage prescription details after checkout.

How it works

  1. Complete a sale

  2. Go to Order Details

  3. Generate a prescription

  4. Add:

    • Dosage (numeric input required for liquid measurements)

    • Notes or instructions

Why this matters

Pharmacies need to document dosage and instructions clearly for compliance and customer safety.

Result

• Improved patient care documentation
• Better compliance with pharmacy workflows
• Centralized prescription tracking

5. Patient Intervention & Indication Tracking

Pharmacies can now capture patient interventions and health indications directly during checkout.

What’s included

Intervention types:
• Counselling
• First Aid / Wound Treatment
• Vital Checks
• Adverse Drug Reaction Reporting
• Doctor Referral
• Diagnostics Referral

Health indications:
• Hypertension
• Diabetes
• Malaria
• STIs/UTIs
• HIV
• Others

How it works

• Enable via Store Settings (Tables must be deactivated)
• Capture data directly in Sell Mode
• View data in:

  • Order Details

  • Customer profile

Why this matters

This allows pharmacies to go beyond transactions and track healthcare services provided.

Result

• Better clinical tracking
• Improved service reporting
• Stronger customer health insights

6. Restock Experience Improvements

The restock workflow has been enhanced to support draft saving and multi-store product addition.

What’s new

Save Restock as Draft
• Save ongoing restock activities
• Resume later from:

  • Procurement → Fast Track → Drafts Log

Multi-Store Product Addition
• Add products from different stores into a single Purchase Order
• Select store → then product → within the same flow

Why this matters

Large restock operations are often interrupted or span multiple locations. This update makes the process more flexible and efficient.

Result

• No loss of work during restocking
• Faster procurement workflows
• Improved multi-store operations
